The church of Santiago de Pardesoa, located in the municipality of Forcarei, is a temple whose history dates back to the late 15th century. From that period, it preserves the main body of the building, although over time it underwent various reforms that transformed some of its elements. Among the most important is the one carried out in 1625 by the master builders Juan de Cadavide and Bartolomé Piñeiro, who worked especially on the main chapel and the sacristy.
The building is constructed with granite ashlar and masonry walls, materials commonly used in traditional Galician architecture, and features roofs with two and four slopes covered with tiles. The current façade was renovated in 1822 by local master builders Pedro de Barro and Andrés García. It features a lintelled doorway above which there is a small circular window and a niche housing an image of the Virgin, elements that provide simplicity and balance to the whole.
The upper part of the façade is organized into several sections. The second level opens with two arches housing the bells, while the structure is crowned by a double-bell gable topped with a wavy-lined pediment and several decorative pinnacles. This combination of elements from different periods reflects the historical evolution of the temple and makes the church of Santiago de Pardesoa one of the main heritage landmarks of the parish.
