The church of San Vicente de Rodeiro is the main parish church of the municipality and one of the most representative religious buildings in the town. Located in the urban centre of Rodeiro, its presence defines the historic core of the locality and reflects the long-standing parish tradition of this inland area of the Deza region.
The current building largely reflects renovations carried out between the 18th and 19th centuries, although its origin is earlier and linked to the medieval parish organization of the area. The church features a single rectangular nave with a differentiated chancel, built with granite masonry and ashlar, materials characteristic of rural Galician religious architecture. The main façade is composed of a simple doorway and a bell gable, elements that provide balance and sobriety to the structure.
Inside, traditional devotional images are preserved, including that of San Vicente, the patron saint of the parish, which keeps the community’s religious identity alive. The church continues to function as an active place of worship and gathering for local residents, forming part of the cultural and social landscape of Rodeiro and recalling the historical importance of parishes in rural Galician life.
